Given all the fuss about Veganism over the past couple of years, I have decided that the best way to actually see if being Vegan is worth it was to try this diet for one month, starting on the 15th of September and ending on the 14th of October.
I used to be very skeptical of this diet, but hearing so many respectable people talking positively about this topic I decided it couldn’t be bad to try it out, so I decided to start out with a “1-Month Trial Period” so to say.
To get as much as possible out of this experience I decided to treat it as an “EXPIREMENT” and, as scientists would do at the beginning of an experiment, I decided to note a couple of expectations so that it’s easier to evaluate this trial at the end of the it.
These expectations and/or questions are regarding the outcome of this one month of veganism and just some points that I would like to understand more when it comes to this diet so that in the end I can decide if I’d like to continue with this diet or not
Here are some the stuff on my mind regarding this experience:
Weight Loss
So, first of all, I would imagine that being Vegan for this amount of time will help me lose a certain amount of weight which would be nice. Obviously for that, I will need to stay off the non-gluten-free products and focus mostly on the veggies. I will try to get more into the cooking area and maybe make some blog posts or youtube videos on certain meals that I find tasty or “more special” or whatever.
Muscle Building
From what I’ve heard, a lot of professional trainers prefer Veganism especially because it helped them achieve their goals in the muscle department. From better glucose control to reduced risk of heart disease, in addition to the lower carbon footprint it entails, being vegan does have a lot of benefits when it comes to fitness and all that body stuff.
Develop Cooking Skills
Considering I’ll have to prepare meals with a considerably less amount of ingredients I figure I’ll develop some kind of cooking abilities. I guess I’ll learn how to make healthier meals and maybe I’ll finally learn how to use all the different spices in the kitchen cabinet.
Discipline
Next, I figured with being on a diet it would make it easier for me to develop a stronger sense of discipline so to say. With having to prepare meals regularly and abstaining from eating meat and stuff I think I’ll have to figure out a new daily plan to follow so that it’s easier to follow the diet.
To Feel Better
A lot of Internet personalities said that once they switched to this whole vegan lifestyle their whole body started to feel different in a good way. They started to feel more alive in a way. This is probably because of all the nuts and whole grains that come with the diet and the lack of dairy products and meat which overall it’s said to improve the individual’s cardiovascular health. Plus, obviously, with all the fruits and vitamins the body is bound to feel better a long as you do not abuse any of those.
IN A NUTSHELL
I want to generally figure out this whole vegan thing for myself, to understand if I want to fully “convert” to this diet. I want to understand if it actually will help me achieve the body I want and if it truly will help me feel better (healthwise).
This would be it for this blog post as the above mentioned are MY expectations for the coming-soon Vegan Month Experiment.
